For anyone thinking of joining a sports society this year, a great option could be gymnastics! Whether you are a former gymnast or are brand new to the sport, you’ll have an absolute blast at the weekly training sessions. On a Wednesday afternoon, come to a fully equipped gymnastics club for 2 hours and learn new skills, play some games and even get the chance to compete in competitions!
So, what does a typical weekly session look like?
First, meet up with the rest of the group to grab a lift to the gymnasium – then get ready to start! After, a pulse raiser – whether it’s running around the gym or a game, this is sure to get you warm and ready to go! Then, time to stretch – copy the fantastic committee members for a quick head to toe stretch followed by line work. Starting with jumps, work your way through forward rolls, cartwheels and spins. Grab yourself a drink and then we’ll split off into ability level groups – there’s a place for everyone! Rotate around the pieces with your group, getting to try everything, then have half an hour free time to go back to your favourite apparatus and try some new skills! A quick stretch followed by the details of any upcoming events and it’s home time – ready to shower, refuel then head to an awesome night out with your new favourite society!
